Back before the 1900 Te Reo maori was forbidden because hardly anyone knew Te reo.There was no point of teaching Te reo maori because back then it was worthless for teaching to teach but when the years start past the attitude started to change.
But at school Te reo maori for still forbidden.But one of the five indigenous could speak Te reo maori as the years start pasting the maori language started to become popular.
Maori teaching were telling a lot of maori stories and then the maori teacher start to tell what happened back in the past which is known as the history.More school was built and toddlers started learning about Te Reo maori.And they can pick it up fast so they started to learn songs and waiata.
